Is Bighound an automated service?

Discovery is automated. Removal is not.

Scanning, matching, scoring, tracking deadlines and noticing re-listings all happen without you. The actual opt-out submission is yours to make.

Why we don’t submit for you

Three reasons, in order of how much they matter.

1. Most brokers gate it deliberately. Opt-out forms sit behind CAPTCHAs and bot challenges precisely to stop bulk automated submission. Getting past that means defeating access controls, which is a line we won’t cross.

2. Many require you to confirm from your own mailbox. A confirmation link sent to your email is, correctly, something only you should be able to action.

3. Some require identity verification. A photo ID should go from you to them, never through a third party’s database. Especially not one we’d then have to protect.

What that means in practice

The gap between “we found it” and “it’s gone” is a few taps per listing, not a research project. Each finding shows the site’s method, what its form asks for, how much effort it takes, and your own details ready to paste.

Would automation be better?

For you, momentarily. But an automated service has to hold everything needed to impersonate you to hundreds of companies — and has to keep holding it. That’s a bigger, more attractive target than anything we’re comfortable being.

Services that do automate this are making a real trade on your behalf. It’s worth knowing they made it.
