How do I add family members?

Your household → Add someone. Give them a label, pick the relationship, fill in what you know, and scan.

The consent requirement

Adding another adult requires you to confirm they’ve authorised it, or that you’re their parent or guardian. That checkbox isn’t paperwork.

You’re about to put a real person’s name, address, birth year and phone number into a system they’ve never heard of, and then act on their behalf with third parties. If they haven’t agreed to that, you’re doing to them a smaller version of what the brokers did — deciding what happens to their information without asking.

Children

You can add minors as their parent or guardian. It’s often worth doing: children appear in broker records through their parents’ addresses and school directories, usually without anyone noticing until they’re old enough for it to matter.

What each person needs

The same fields you gave for yourself. Birth year matters even more here — family members sharing a surname and an address are exactly the case that produces false matches, and age is the only field on a broker card that tells them apart.

Removing someone

Delete them from the household. That removes their record and all their findings from Bighound. It does not withdraw opt-out requests already filed on their behalf — those went to the brokers directly and Bighound was never in that loop.
